Eagle County, CO - The Colorado State Patrol and the Eagle County Sheriff's Office arrested a Utah man Monday afternoon after he reportedly was firing a gun out the window of his car while driving on I-70 through Glenwood Canyon.
According to CSP, 43-year-old Ryan Johnson of Fairview, Utah was arrested shortly after 1 p.m., after reports of a man shooting from a moving vehicle on I-70 between the Glenwood Springs and No Name exits in Glenwood Canyon.
Troopers stopped the vehicle, a 2008 Ford Expedition with Utah plates, near the Eagle exit, and closed down the highway for a short time in both directions while the suspect was being arrested.
CSP says Johnson was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. During the arrest they recovered a .22 caliber handgun.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Johnson was booked into the Eagle County Detention Center and charged with Prohibited Use of a Weapon and Reckless Endangerment.
