Mental Health Resources

Local News
Following the recent death by suicide of a middle school girl, “Mesa County Public Health” wants residents to be aware of mental health resources available to them.
For teenagers and young adults struggling with suicidal thoughts or depression, “safe2tell” is a great resource with online, texting, and calling options — all of which can be anonymous.
This resource can also be used for those concerned about others and looking for help.
The “crisis text line” is another 24/7 resource which focuses on texting, and can also be an anonymous help line for both adults and children.
And the “national suicide prevention lifeline” is a 24/7, 1-800 number providing support for those struggling with suicidal thoughts, and further resources for those dealing with a crisis.
“Mesa County Public Health” also says it’s important to pay attention to loved ones and friends around you, and ask for help and support if you or someone you know is struggling.

NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION LIFELINE: 1-800-273-8255
CRISIS TEXT LINE: TEXT “HOME” TO 741741
SAFE2TELL: 1-877-542-7233
