Mesa County Jail treats opioid addiction, new program

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A major development in treating opioid addiction at the Mesa County Jail.

The Mesa County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved funding for a medication-assisted treatment program Monday morning.

The funding approval will help add the necessary staff to begin the implementation of this program.

The program is part of a collaboration between the county, and Wellpath LLC.

Inmates in this program will be able to continue treatment after serving time.
