Mesa County Offender Recaptured After Prison Escape
George Roloff serving time for menacing, extortion
CANON CITY, Colo. - Following an escape from a Colorado prison on Monday, authorities have recaptured two inmates – one of whom is serving time for crimes committed in Mesa County.
State officials said the men escaped from the Colorado Territorial Correctional Facility in Canon City at around 9:30 a.m.
George Roloff is serving time for several counts of menacing and extortion out of Mesa County, while Luke Tanner is behind bars for a variety of crimes including robbery out of Denver, Lincoln and Fremont counties.
Law enforcement was immediately notified once the escape was discovered, and both men were captured shortly afterwards.
