Mesa County officials desire community feedback for master plan updates

Local News

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – Mesa County’s current master plan hasn’t been fully updated in 25 years. Updating the plan focuses on improving unincorporated areas within the county, which includes Clifton, Whitewater, Mack, Loma, and Fruitvale.

An update this big needs ideas and insight, and county officials believe those ideas should come from people who live and visit these areas.

“It gets all the citizens involved to really, kind of, define and describe what the future of their county is going to look like,” Mesa County Community Development Director Greg Moberg expresses, “That’s what the master plan is all about.”

Mesa County’s Community Development Department says community feedback is crucial for the plan to align land use policy with the values, goals, and long-term vision of the community. The county will host town halls and unveil a website for you to share your ideas.
