MESA COUNTY, Colo. – The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Wildland Fire Team is always ready to respond to fires, but did you know they spend their down time out in the community, completing projects?
From graffiti removal to fire mitigation, the team has undertaken more than 40 operations to
better the Clifton area.
The sheriff’s office says not only does this benefit how the community looks, but how it acts,
“Fire mitigation always has side benefits; whether it be removal of invasive species or habitat restoration, and in many cases it actually has a crime reduction effect,” says Mesa County Sheriff’s Emergency Services Director Andy Martsolf.
The sheriff’s office is having a ‘Clifton Clean-Up’ on September 27th where residents can help pick up trash and unwanted items. This will be located at 32 and 33 roads between I-70 and D Road.
