Mesa County WIC Program Remains Open During Gov. Shutdown

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Despite the partial federal government shutdown, the Mesa County Women, Infant and Children program will stay open for participants through January.

Mesa County Public Health received confirmation from the Colorado WIC state office that funds from the previous year are available to still provide services.

Current and potential WIC participants should know that no services are being cut back at this time. If anything changes past the end of January, WIC participants will be notified.

Clinics will keep normal appointment schedules and their staff is still available for assistance. Participants visiting the grocery stores will still have their WIC processed normally. The WIC program is still accepting new applicants during this time.
