GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Martin Luther King Junior Day is Monday, which means many government offices will be closed to recognize the occasion.
Most offices tied to Mesa County government will be shut down as well as all branches of the Mesa County Library. However, Grand Valley Transit, the Landfill, the Coroner’s Office, and emergency functions of the sheriff’s office will all be on a regular schedule.
Mesa County Animal Services will also be open for two hours between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Meanwhile, offices tied to the City of Grand Junction will also be shut down during the holiday.
City trash and recycling pickup service-will be on the regular schedule with no delays.
Monday is also a parking meter holiday and you can park for free on any downtown trips, including the parking garage on Rood Avenue.
