GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — From the opening kick off, Montrose was the better team tonight.

It started hot for the Red Hawks as senior Austin Zimmer took the opening kick 85 yards to the house. It took a drive or two for Montrose offense to get going but once it did, it did not look back.

This game was simple: a long methodical drive for Montrose, followed up by a three and out for Palisade. The Red Hawks cruised to the 42-0 win and they only thing keeping them from scoring 50 were themselves.

Utter domination for a Montrose team that looks dangerous on both sides of the ball as the season gets going. Next up the Red Hawks will host Lutheran and Palisade will have another tough test on the road against Golden.
