GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A local brewery, Monumental Beer Works, offered more than drinks Sunday afternoon. The business hosted a “Local Love” outdoor market, and the event was careful to follow the new county COVID restrictions.
On Friday, Level Red, meaning “severe risk” on the Mesa County’s COVID risk dial went into effect. The new rules limit outdoor events to 25% or 75 people, whichever is fewer, and on Sunday at Monumental Beer Works, capacity limits were followed, as well as proper social distancing and face coverings.
The event was a perfect opportunity to support several local businesses in a safe environment. Cindy Willms, a Strive employee, says, “honestly, I feel like it’s a lot safer than going to the grocery store.” Another Strive employee, Alicia Red Star, adds, “this is a great way to get your shopping done locally and safely.”
