FRUITA, Colo. — There are still a few more weeks of the Fruita Farmers Market, so until Halloween you can support local businesses as they try to earn the money they lost during the worst of the pandemic.
COVID-19 has caused countless setbacks for many of these local businesses. Therefore, the extension of the market in Reed Park will help many vendors. Every Saturday for another month you’ll find local businesses selling their famous goods, and they could not be more grateful for this extra time since many vendors rely heavily on the farmers market to make an income. For instance, Heather Usow, owner of U Reap What Usow, says, “I replaced my income with the farmers market. I am able to feed my kids because of the farmers market. This is what I do. This is my livelihood.”
In response, Fruita officials say they are always happy to help the community.
