TODAY: We start with a sub-freezing morning, but high temperatures are well on their way to being about 10 degrees warmer for this afternoon. A Freeze Warning is in effect for Mesa, Delta, Montrose and parts of Eastern Utah until 10 a.m. because temperatures will start in the 20s this morning with mostly sunny skies. By this afternoon, we see temperatures in the low 60s and upper 50s with partly cloudy skies.
TONIGHT: Clouds will increase overnight as a storm system approaches the area. Temperatures will fall into the 30s overnight. Snow is likely to fall in the high country through the overnight hours. There are several winter storm watches and warnings for the high country for difficult driving conditions as the storm moves the area.
EXTENDED FORECAST: The storm system will bring chances of a rain/snow mix for Thursday morning to the lower elevations and snow to the higher elevations. By the afternoon and evening hours, there will be a slight chance of rain for the lower elevations and a higher chance of snow for the mountains. By Friday, that storm system will leave the area and we will see partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the 50s.
