MESA COUNTY, Colo. — Mother’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year for flower orders. Some local florists are even calling it overwhelming, especially this year.
While the day is usually busy, some flower shops weren’t expecting such a rush due to the coronavirus.
Some florists even cut back on the pre-order for Mother’s Day thinking they weren’t going to sell anything — but that’s not the case.
“We are selling out too soon, not being able to get more product, and having to turn customers away.” – Flower Extraordinaire
This problem seems to be a trend for many, the owner of Flower Extraordinaire has talked to other fellow florists in town, and says they are all on the same boat.
So, if you don’t already have your flower bouquet order secured with a local florist, you may be out of luck.
But there are a few other ways you can get something for mom, and still support local like a to-go brunch from your local market.
“If you pre-order our brunch special for Mother’s Day, you can go next store to the liquor store and pick up a mimosa basket for 10 percent off, and we will have it all ready when you get here.”- Fisher’s Market
We also reached out to your local chocolate factory– Enstrom Candies.
A spokesperson said they open and ready to serve mom on her special day.
