GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - With Mother's Day this Sunday, maybe you don't know what to get for your mom, but luckily, the Grand Valley offers several different options. One of the options being flowers.
"Mother's Day is when we know it's safe to put bedding plants out. It's safe to plant our vegetable gardens. Most of the danger in frost has past so it's go time."
Along with it being a safe time of year to plant flowers, hanging flowers in baskets are also great for mothers.
"The special thing about this weekend is that it's Mother's Day! If you take a look around, we have things in bloom. glorious, fabulous blooming spectacular baskets. Watching people be so excited about the possibilities of their gardens for the year, it's a thrill."
If flowers aren't the item for your mom, maybe she'd be interested in one of the Mother's Day brunches or buffets around the valley like the one at the "Wine Country Inn" in Palisade.
"So our Mother's Day brunch, we're going to have three seatings at 11, 2 and 5. Our 5 pm seating is the only one still open. We have a wonderful menu for everyone. It's going to be a great time to come out and appreciate the moms, and not make them cook their own meals on mother's day."
If the brunch on Sunday doesn't work for you, the "Wine Country Inn" will also be having a Mother's Day tea on Saturday.
"It's a traditional British afternoon tea. So, it's very popular especially for the ladies."
If you didn't have any ideas on what to do for mother's day a few minutes ago, maybe you do now.
