Motorcyclist Killed in Collision Identified

Coroner rules Grand Junction man died of blunt force head injuries

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Mesa County Coroner's Office is now releasing the identity of a motorcyclist killed in a traffic accident.

Officials said Chad Garrison, 27, of Grand Junction died from injuries suffered in a crash on Monday night in the area of 29 1/4 and D Roads.

Preliminary details indicate that a car heading east on D Road was starting a southbound turn onto 29 1/4 Road, when Mr.Garrison went to pass on the right, striking the passenger side of the car.

Garrison, who authorities say was not wearing a helmet, died at the hospital. Coroner Dean Havlik said the cause of death was blunt force head injuries.

The female driver of the car was not injured. The crash is still under investigation.
