Murder Suspect Guilty Of Charges

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo–After only a few hours of deliberation, a Mesa County jury convicted Joseph Peace of 2nd degree murder.

The District Attorney’s office presented its argument through a timeline of events before and after the murder of Eric Ludwick.

Meanwhile, they continued to make the case that Joe Peace was not knowingly authorized to kill Eric Ludwick under Colorado self-defense laws.

The defense’s version of what happened on March 26th at the intersection of Ridge Dr. and 28. Rd is different than what the people claim.

Joe peace’s defense told the jury that the DA’s want them to believe there were no weapons in the car–but there were a baseball bat and a baton-shaped flashlight.

The ballistics show Eric Ludwick was in fact lunging at Joe Peace when he fired his single shot before fleeing the scene.

The defense closed by telling the jury that Joseph Peace is guilty of his charges, but not guilty, of murder in the second degree.
