Murder Suspect’s Fate in Jury’s Hands

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — On the 7th day of David Castro’s murder trial, the jury has entered into deliberation. Tuesday morning started with closing arguments from both sides, with the two parties emphasizing the timeline leading up to the murder of Kyle Free.

The prosecution highlighted conversations between John Eddy and David Castro, which they believe show Castro’s complicity. This includes Facebook messages they allege come from Castro, saying he has John Eddy’s back and is ready to go for the murder.

The defense left the jury with two questions. Why would David Castro put himself between John Eddy and Kyle Free, only to end up being shot? The second question being, why would David Castro need to cover his face if he intended to murder someone with his co-conspirators?
