GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Traveling from Grand Junction to Denver is about to get a bit easier thanks to a new bus service.
Bustang, a bus service that has been mainly in the mountains and front rage is now expanding to the Grand Valley.
"There's going to be a number of stops. leaving from Grand Junction, you'll have stops in Parachute, Rifle, Glenwood Springs, Eagle, Frisco, Idaho springs, then in the Denver metro area there's a stop at the Denver Federal Center and then we have a stop at the Denver Union Station, that's their terminus."
Bustang will also make it possible to get to places that may be a bit off of the main route.
"One of the purposes of Bustang is to connect to local transit agencies throughout the state. That's one of it's missions."
Bustang will be making trips to and from Denver daily, and in a timely manner as well.
"There'll be one trip a day, seven days a week. There will be one trip leaving Denver at around 6:30 in the morning and arrive in Grand Junction at 11:35. And then the route from Grand Junction to Denver leaves at 12:35 and arrives at Denver at 4:35."
They have many features including wifi, restrooms, power and usb outlets, as well as wheelchair access on their climate controlled coaches. Along with these features, the busses will be running in all weather conditions.
"Because the route will be operating in the winter time, it has an automatic chain up system, so when the chain law is in effect, it's not like the bus has to stop and the operator needs to go out and put chains on the vehicle. There's an automatic system that puts the chains on automatically."
The maximum cost for a one way ticket to Denver from Grand Junction will be 42 dollars, and the amount will decrease in price for the various stops between Grand Junction and Denver.
