The Spink fire is the newest brush fire that started Thursday, July, 15 North of Loma.
The fire is located on BLM land in the area of Highway 139 near mile marker 20.
At last report, the fire has burned about 2.1 acres, but BLM officials say they have constructed a fire line with an estimated containment of the fire at 9pm Thursday. Officials say they hope to control the fire by 9pm on Friday.
According to the BLM, a helicopter was smothering the flames by providing water drops continuously since early Thursday afternoon but has since been released.
