One dead, one injured, one in custody following shooting at truck stop

UPDATE (2/6): The Mesa County Coroner’s office has identified the victim of a deadly weekend shooting at a Mesa County Truck Stop.

58-year-old Thomas Huddleston of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was killed on Sunday, February 2nd.

UPDATE (2/4): Christopher Rizo, 29, of Grand Junction, was arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility for charges of Murder in the First Degree (F1), Attempted Murder in the First Degree (F2), Tampering with Physical Evidence (F6), two counts of Aggravated Robbery (F3), two counts of 2nd Degree Kidnapping (F2), and two counts of Menacing (F5).  The affidavit in this case is currently sealed. 

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo, — One person is dead and one adult male is in custody after a shooting Sunday night, following the big game in Grand Junction.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department were dispatched to the Travel Center Truck Stop at Highway 6&50 on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located two victims with gunshot wounds. The Grand Junction Police Department reports one victim is dead, and the other is being treated for serious injuries.

Officials say one adult male is in custody and the police department is not seeking any additional suspects.
