GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- One man is in the hospital and another in custody after a Saturday morning stabbing.
At about 9:40 a.m., the Grand Junction Police Department was dispatched behind a strip mall next to the Safeway at 29 Rd. and Patterson Rd. to reports of a stabbing.
According to a sergeant with the GJPD, the victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by a family member in a personal vehicle where he went into surgery.
The GJPD were able to locate and arrest the suspect about a mile and a half southeast near North Avenue. He was taken to Mesa County Jail.
The sergeant also tells KREX 5 the two males knew one another and are not connected to the businesses inside the strip mall.
