Orchard Mesa Pool opens after being shut down due to COVID-19

Local News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – On Monday, September 28th the Orchard Mesa Pool opened its doors again after being closed since March. Swimmers above the age of 10, must wear a mask when walking around the facility. The mask may be removed in the pool. Lap swim times are by reservation only and the staff is ramping up its cleaning procedures to keep swimmers and staff safe. Swimmers will enter and exit the facility by separate locations, to prevent two-way traffic.

“Our policy is to clean as frequently as possible, especially high tough surfaces. Sanitize as much as we can. And then also making sure it’s a safe place for our staff as well. So our guard room, our manager office, places like that. Because if we get sick we can’t be open,” says Pete Ashman, of Grand Junction Parks and Recreation.
