Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month begins with a live studio interview

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Michael Bilger joins the KREX5 News at Noon crew to talk about his sister Jodi’s experience with Ovarian Cancer, and the importance of getting your symptoms checked as soon as possible.

Ovarian Cancer is the 5th leading cause of cancer-related deaths in females across the United States.

There is no screening for the disease, making early symptom recognition crucial. Unfortunately over 80-percent of diagnoses are late stage, when the 5-year survival rate is at just 44-percent.

Michael Bilger’s sister Jodi Brammeier was the founder of ‘Jodi’s Race for Awareness’ before passing away from the disease herself, and he is urging everyone to try and catch your symptoms as early as possible.
