Palisade HS ‘Live Above’ club to host ice skating food drive

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Palisade High School has a club called Live Above, which aims to promote suicide awareness and prevention.

So far this year, students in the club have learned about suicide prevention, how to know someone is suffering, and how to help.

Live Above has hosted suicide prevention events on school grounds, but this weekend, the students are holding their first off-campus event.

On Saturday, December 14th, from 4:15-6:15 p.m., a can of food or an article of clothing will get you admitted to the Glacier Ice Arena.

Not only is this an opportunity to have fun, but you’ll also get a chance to spend time with friends and loved ones.

Additionally, all the items donated will be given to those in need.

Students in the club say the feeling of togetherness is one of the most powerful suicide prevention tools, and this event promotes just that.
