GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Grand Valley residents have a chance to sharpen their landscape painting skills this February.
The Blue Pig Gallery is hosting a Basics of Landscape Painting workshop with Nancy Lewis Friday and Saturday, February 3 and 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The workshop is designed to explore the creation of art in a fun, simple and understandable way. All skill levels are welcome as the class is recommended for beginners and professionals alike. This workshop gives individuals a chance to ‘loosen up’ and enjoy the youthful expression of art.
In this workshop, participants will have a chance to;
- Learn to draw what you see and not what you know
- Get a better grasp on applying color
- Practice simplifying shapes
- Learn the value of values
- Put together interesting shapes and composition
- Understand more about color combinations to harmonize your image
- Learn new trips and tricks to inspire you
Nancy Lewis will be demonstrating several concepts using different materials and techniques. The Blue Pig assures participants will receive sufficient one-on-one attention during the two-day workshop.
