PALISDAE, Colo. — Partners and Stakeholders of the Palisade Plunge came together Wednesday to break-ground on the first half of trail building.
The plunge is a 32-mile trail open to mountain bikes and non-motorized use, extending from the Town of Palisade to the top of the Grand Mesa.
The project is unique, and although some similar trails do exist, Mesa County receives kudos from many organizations.
The BLM calls it “blue print” for projects similar across the U.S.
Additionally, the trail gives us more than just recreational fun. It could contribute 1.9 million dollars annually to Palisades economy, and 5 million dollars into the Grand Valley.
The 4-million dollar project is set to be complete by 2021.
