PALISADE, Colo. — Construction of a trail connecting the Grand Mesa to Palisade is gaining speed.
The Palisade Plunge trail is approximately 20 percent finished.
As of last week, crews have completed a total of approximately 5 point 5-8 miles of finished trail, along with about 1 point 8-6 miles of rough-cut trail.
The Palisade Plunge which will descend nearly6,000 feet has three different crews working on the trail.
When complete, the plunge will connect the Palisade Rim Trail to the top of the Grand Mesa near Lands End Road with more than 32 miles of single track for bikes and non-motorized recreational use.
