Some Grand Valley parents will soon have to seek out another source of fun for their kids as a popular playground prepares to close for a few days.
Officials with Grand Junction Parks and Recreation said the playground at Canyon View Park is due for repairs to its protective surfacing.
The play area will need to be shut down while crews remove damaged sections and install new surfacing. There cannot be any activity on the repaired sections for 72 hours afterwards.
The playground is scheduled to close on Sunday, June 16, and the reopening is tentatively planned for Thursday, June 20.
Families are encouraged to seek out other playgrounds throughout the parks department during the closure. To see what’s available, go to www.gjparksandrec.org
