Inside the residence, they found Manuel Herrera-Herrera, age 50, and Maria “Yolanda” Donjuan-Diaz, age 44, both deceased. The Grand Junction Police Department executed a search warrant of the home where evidence was collected.

This incident was determined to be a homicide/suicide involving domestic violence. The Grand Junction Police Department express courtesy to the sensitive nature, wanting all parties involved enough time to reconcile the events that took place.

This was an isolated incident and there were no other threats to the community. Detectives continue to process the evidence and the investigation remains ongoing.
