GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The snow is a welcome sight at Powderhorn so much so, they opened that Flat Top Flyer today.
Powderhorn Mountian Ski Resort reported 5 inches of snow at 5 a.m.
Since that reporting they've received 15 inches of snow and approached about 20 inches.
They say they've seen more people Sunday morning than they have this entire season.
Because of the amounts of snow, the resort opened its main lift for the first time this season.
Parts of the mountain are still closed, but they opened up some additional terrain.
"I mean everyone loves a powder day. Everyone's hollering and talking about their runs and a few spills, but everyone is excited about the snow and pretty happy to be here on the mountains," said Ryan Robinson, with Powderhorn Ski Resort.
The resort will remain closed this Monday through Wednesday but starting this Thursday, it will return to a seven day week operation.
