A Mesa County Judge has made a decision on whether Rebecca Walker and her defense could accept a plea deal they moved on from back in April. This plea, would have allowed her to only potentially serve 50% of a 48-52.5 year sentence.
The judges main reason for denying this motion, stems from the defense continuing to negotiate with the district attorney’s office after the April offer.
Instead the court was informed that when she returns on July 12th, the defense will have to make a decision on a plea agreement or take this case to trial.
Her latest offer, known publicly, would have her plead guilty to three counts and cooperate with the prosecution against all of her co-defendants. This would include testifying against everyone charged as accessories to the murder of Kyle Free.
