GRAND JUCTION, Colo. - One local organization is making it their duty to show support for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
The Redlands Lions Club placed over 750 flags Monday morning to honor the veteran community as apart of their biggest fundraiser of the year.
The money raised from this event will support local organizations along with vision care for children and adults.
31 members came out to place flags in Redland neighborhoods as well as Community Hospital. This is one of 9 days out of the year the organization does this to support our vets.
"When you wake up in the morning and get the newspaper and at 7 a.m. after we've been by at 6:30 a.m. and you see all those flags, it's just a wonderful feeling," said Lance Wade, Flag Committee Chairman of the Redlands Lions Club.
In order to get a flag to be placed on your home it is on a subscription basis for $35 a year.
The flags will be picked up right before sunset and the next set of flags will be placed on September 11th.
