Redlands Lions Club to have flag display twice in one week

Local News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – American flags are on full display once again this Labor Day with more than 700 flags waving in neighborhoods and outside of businesses in the area. This is one of nine holidays in which the Redlands Lions Club puts on an American flag display.

This is not just a tradition, it’s a project made to give back.

“We raise between 25 and 27 thousand dollars a year and we put that money back into the community,” Redlands Lions Club Flag Coordinator Lance Wade shares, ” doesn’t allow us to leave the flags up overnight because they have to be delighted cared for so will take them down this evening before sundown.”

The next flag display holiday is scheduled for Patriot Day on September 11.

The Redlands Lion’s Club flag service honors 9 patriotic holidays annually. The cost for residents is a donation of $35. If you are interested in subscribing to this service, or volunteering to help place the flags, please contact Lions Club members Lance Wade at 270-4658 or Dave McIlnay at 433-7961.
