Redlands Shooting Ruled a Homicide

MESA COUNTY, Colo. - We are starting to get answers following the death stemming from a shooting in the Redlands, Wednesday.  40 year old Brett Borza has been identified as the victim as the Mesa County Coroner Confirmed the shooting was homicide.  Still questions remain about what happened inside that house.

At 2:41 PM Wednesday, authorities received a call of shots fired at 2108 Saguaro Road.  Once deputies arrived on the scene they found Borza dead from that shooting.

The Mesa County Coroner later confirmed Borza’s death was homicide.  Two people that were inside that house were arrested on warrants not related to the shooting.  Tommy Kelly, 41, and Arianna Campbell, 24, both of Grand Junction.

“They are people that we contacted through the course of this investigation and they happen to have outstanding warrants,” says Megan Terlecky of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.

Even with no one being taken into custody for the shooting, the Sheriff’s Office says there is no threat to the public.

“We believe that we have identified everybody involved in this incident and it’s just a matter of our investigators working the case to determine exactly what happened,” says Terlecky.
