Emily Shockley with School District 51 stopped by to talk about Superintendent Diana Sirko’s solution to reduce their reorganization costs by more than $700,000.
The original reorganization would have had a net cost of more than $946,000, but with Sirko’s recommendations it would only cost roughly $240,000.
The recommendations consist of getting rid of five administration positions, including Communications Director, Director of Program Evaluation and Research, Assistant Director of Facilities, Administrative Induction Coordinator and Community Partnerships Coordinator. The analysis also includes freezing salaries on the Administrative Salary Schedule and reducing contract leadership support and administrative salaries.
