Rock fall mitigation: I-70 closures

MESA COUNTY– CDOT is set to implement a closure of I-70 roughly a mile east of Palisade beginning Thursday, July 25 at 1 p.m., lasting through the day.

Rock fall mitigation will occur in DeBeque Canyon at mile point 45.8. Operations will cause multiple closures of an hour or more for west and eastbound traffic.

If crews do not finish mitigation Thursday, construction will roll over into Friday.

Eastbound traffic will be stopped at the Kokopelli off ramp at mile post 45.5. Westbound traffic will be stopped at the Cameo Truck Stop, mile point 46.7.

NOTICE: Construction was originally set to begin at 11 a.m., but has now been delayed to 1 p.m.
