Rocky Mountain Elementary to close Wednesday, 3rd Mesa County school to shut down due to illness

Local News

MESA COUNTY, Colo. — School District 51 announced Tuesday evening that Rocky Mountain Elementary School will be closed Wednesday to combat an illness that has been spreading among local schools.

Officials say Rocky Mountain Elementary School received extra disinfecting on Monday and has more cleaning planned for tonight, but taking the additional steps in closing Rocky Mountain will help minimize the spread of the illness.

Rocky Mountain is a feeder school for the two schools most impacted by the illness, which are Palisade High School and Mountain Garfield Middle School.
