Rocky Mountain Gun Club is closing its doors

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KREX) – A popular gun business on the Western Slope is closing. After seven years, the owners of Rocky Mountain Gun Club are shutting down the facility.

The gun shop offered a wide range of products and a shooting range. The store manager says a series of challenges tied to mechanical issues are behind the closing.

A going-out-of-business sale begins on August 31 and runs through September 4 from noon to 6 p.m. Organizers say the next steps are to keep the building available for law enforcement use.

“Our goal is to make sure the building stays used to its highest potential,” Rocky Mountain Gun Club Manager Sabra O’Crotty shares, “We’re really trying to see if there’s a way to transition it to law enforcement use for training, perhaps a secondary dispatch location or to become a shared facility between some different departments.”

The closing will impact a number of members but the business is offering full reimbursement of any unused memberships. These can be used for store credit prior to closing or 50-percent value in cash.
