GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — One local non-profit goes above and beyond to help those coping with the loss of a pet.
The Roice-Hurst Humane Society is one of six locations around the state which hosts a pet grief support group.
The group is designed to help members of the community coping with the loss of a pet. Roice-Hurst started the group earlier this year. The group meets every other month, and is run by a licensed social worker.
Roice-Hurst’s director says having this group is the organization’s way of not just helping the animals of the Grand Valley, but people too.
The pet loss grief group’s next meeting will be Wednesday, February 12th at 5:30 pm.
