RV Catches Fire

Local News

A recreational vehicle caught fire off of Horizon Drive at the Shell Station around 10 A.M. on June 29.

The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to the fire and contained it quickly. Officials said the driver was able to park the RV in a safe spot at the gas station away from gas pumps or vegetation. No one was injured in the incident but “unfortunately, the very nice man lost his RV, but fortunately his son lived here in town so we were able to get them together fairly quickly,” said Dirk Clingman, a Community Outreach Specialist for the Grand Junction Fire Department.

According to the Grand Junction Fire Department, the fire appears to have started in the engine compartment and then spread to the rest of the vehicle.
