GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – District 51 recruiters look to fill some of the hard-to-fill positions which include special education, nutrition, transportation, and custodial services. The needs to get people hired in these departments are essential for elementary, middle, and high schools across the district.
While these roles get overlooked sometimes, District 51 officials express how every single position makes a really big impact in how the schools operate.
“When you think of the school system, the first thing you think of is teachers but it’s really a whole team. They’re starting from custodial services, nutritional services, all the way up to the principal,” School District 51 Certified Recruiting Specialist Carter Ness expresses, “We’re really looking for people to come join a team rather than join a position.”
Recruiters from District 51 will also be joined by multiple colleges from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, at R-5 high school. Job-seekers should come prepared to interview for job openings on the spot, bringing any materials needed to complete a job application.
