Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) has a 4 pillar plan to keep the VA and government ready to assist our nations veterans.
So, with over 10,000 veterans in Mesa County it seemed like a perfect fit to address veteran’s needs.
Grand Junction’s own VA was in attendance to sit down with Senator Gardner.
The first pillar of the senator’s plan involves expanding access to veteran services and highlighting ways to get our younger veterans engaged and aware of the services our own VA has available.
Another important discussion involved finding ways to emphasize the skills veterans learn in the military and upholding the promise to a good life after service.
Senator Cory Gardner emphasizes, “Making sure that we are ready to deliver on the promises that we as a country have made to our veterans.”
Gardner’s plan on transitioning service members back into civilian life includes encouraging entrepreneurship through the Boots to Business program and co-sponsoring the STEM careers act.
