GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Grand Junction Police Department made two arrests this morning after shots were reportedly fired near Las Colonias Park.

GJPD officers responded to reports of shooting in the area of the Las Colonias Park pedestrian bride shortly after 1 a.m. this morning. Original reports claimed people were fighting on the bridge when a gunshot was heard. Responding officers talked with three people on the bridge, two men and a woman.

According to the GJPD, responding officers learned that the two men engaged in a physical altercation that included in a firearm discharge. One of the men reportedly suffered minor injuries during the incident.

No criminal charges have been filed at this time. This is an active GJPD investigation with no further information available at this time. This story will be updated when new details become available.
