GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Law enforcement responded to reports of a shooting early this morning.

Witnesses called 9-1-1 at around 2:30 a.m., claiming four people in a Cadillac Deville fired shots at their camp near the Gunnison Roller Dam. Law enforcement arrived on the scene of the report to discover the suspected vehicle had fled.

According to the MCSO, the same vehicle returned several hours later and fired more shots at the campers.

GJPD officers and MCSO deputies reportedly found the car in the 2600 block of Highway 50 where law enforcement detained four individuals without further incident. No injuries were reported.

This is an ongoing law enforcement investigation with no further information available at this time. Officials believe this was an isolated incident with no apparent outstanding threat to the public.
