MESA COUNTY, Colo. — The Colorado Department of Local Affairs approved close to $1 million in funding for small business relief. Each local and small business approved could receive up to $7,000.
“We believe that small business is the backbone of our economy and, when they’re hurting, we wanna help out,” Cody Davis shares, “So, again, we just encourage people to go and sign up if they’re in that demographic.”
Doug Sorter of the Thrive organization operates a small business downtown. He has never seen a financial crisis like this in his entire career.
He jumped on the chance to apply, and says the money will be a huge help.
“This helped us be sustainable; it helped us pay our employees, we really welcomed this,” Doug Sorter reflects, “If you can imagine what it could do for you, ’cause what it did for us was just incredible. So, if you could imagine that for yourselves, I encourage you to do it as well.”
You can find the application and if your business is eligible for this one-time grant online.
To ensure that all businesses eligible can apply, applications can be submitted until March 10 by 5 p.m, sharp.
