Student Stabbing Review Hearing Extension

Local News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.

A review hearing for a juvenile stabbing incident at Grand Junction High School in late October last year is delayed.

The minor pleaded not guilty to allegedly stabbing a fellow student at least half a dozen times.

The minor is charged with second degree assault, domestic violence, and interference with staff or students of educational institutions.

At the last hearing the judge ordered the minor to take a mental health evaluation before the review hearing.

In today’s proceedings it was found the organization responsible for the evaluation needs more time and sent a letter requesting an extension to March 30th.

The judge scheduled the next court hearing for March 24th.
