GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Mesa County Animal Services is collaborating with participating local veterinarians to offer spay/neuter vouchers for Mesa County pet owners. With these vouchers, the cost of the procedure will be $25 to the pet owner.
The Animal Assistance Foundation (AAF) has provided extremely generous funding for sterilization procedures, and participating local veterinarians have agreed to offer Mesa County citizens the procedures at a substantially reduced rate.
Pet owners will be required to provide proof of current rabies vaccination at the time of the procedure. If the animal does not have a current rabies vaccination, the owner will be required to pay for that service. The cost of the rabies vaccination is NOT covered by the $25.00 co-pay.
The veterinarian offices listed below have been issued a limited number of vouchers for 2021. Issuance of the vouchers is entirely at the discretion of each participating veterinarian’s office. Individuals may be requested to support that they have financial need or communicate why they have a unique circumstance that results in a need for the voucher.
Vouchers will be available at each participating veterinarian’s office (listed below) starting March 1, 2021, and are valid through September 30, 2021.

Additionally, by managing overpopulation in the community, we ensure that all pets have access to the five freedoms — freedom from hunger and thirst, discomfort, pain, injury or disease, fear and distress, and freedom to express normal behavior.
