GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The shelter-in-place for residents in the immediate area of the 2900 block of Dawn Drive has been lifted following the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and SWAT Team’s attempt to contact a potentially dangerous suspect.

According to officials with the MCSO, the suspect was wanted on two felony warrants related to domestic violence. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Michael C. Montez, was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation before being booked.

There will be additional charges added due to today’s actions.
