Sylvan Lake fire at 19% containment

Eagle County, Colo. – Fire Crews on the scene of the Sylvan Lake fire in Eagle County have been taking a direct approach to extinguishing the flames. They say work is being done mostly on the fire’s edge.

The greatest impacts for smoke are expected to be in the areas below the fire, near Sylvan Lake State Park.

The fire is holding at just more than 3,700 acres and is about 19 percent contained.
