As the end of summer approaches the Bureau of Land Management is making sure people continue to stay active.

Sunday at 4 p.m. the BLM, the Grand Junction Mesa Jeep Club, and Mesa County will have a ribbon cutting ceremony to introduce the new Tabeguache Connector Trail on Highway 141 in Whitewater.

The BLM says the 1/3 mile connector trail will allow ATVs, motorcycles, and modified vehicles that will connect Grand Junction to Montrose.

The trail known for long-distance mountain bike rides will be needing volunteers for a clean up event that will take place at 34 and C Road Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

People are encouraged to attend both events.
